GEOSS provides groundwater services to mines. With the aim of managing and protecting groundwater resources to the benefit of all stakeholders, the environment included.
For an open cast phosphate mine, the groundwater abstracted from necessary dewatering process is reinjected into the aquifer using a managed aquifer recharge technique. This is done to protect down gradient receptors that would otherwise potentially be at risk. GEOSS undertakes regular water level and quality monitoring at the site.
